Rather than trying to present a huge and comprehensive links page, we list here links that some of our members have found useful. The list below is only a start.


Chicago-Area Art
Museum and Gallery Guides
The Chicago Reader publishes weekly art listings of Chicago exhibits that are the most complete possible: if an exhibit with regular hours isn't here, it's because the organizers didn't ask to be listed.
Chicago Gallery News lists fewer galleries than the Reader, but there's more information on the galleries listed plus lots of links to art-related services.
Chicago Art Galleries is another list of galleries, not complete, but with links to gallery Web sites.
The Chicago Art Dealers Association includes a number of galleries.

Spaces Org has a listing of current exhibitions at some spaces and galleries in Chicago, plus an archive of the Uncomfortable Spaces Galleries.s

Chicago Gallery News also has excellent links sections to artists by gallery, not for profits, and art services organizations.
ChicagoArt.Net includes links to galleries, a calendar of coming events, and offers the option to receive emailed announcements of exhibits and events.

Writing on Chicago Art
panel-house offers reviews of Chicago-area exhibition and is managed by our member Terence Hannum.
Bridge online also has reviews of Chicago-area exhibits.
mouthtomouth is a magazine of interviews with artists that puts some of their content online.
TENbyTEN, a Chicago-based independent magazine that covers contemporary art, architecture, design, film, fashion, media, and sound.

Other
The Chicago Artists' Coalition is a membership organization that advocates for area artists and maintains online portfolios for artists.
The Other Group, an active discussion group about art in Chicago.

International Art Links
Artcyclopedia is a huge reference of art links for well-known, "museum-quality" artists throughout history.
artnet is a major Internet art magazine with an international roster of contributors, including our own member Victor M. Cassidy.
The art magazine interreview.org is international in scope but edited in Chicago.
World Wide Arts Resources has a large number of contemporary arts links.
A directory of sites on art theory.
College Art Association awards, which include an award for writing on art. CAA seeks to honor individual artists, art historians, authors, curators, and critics whose accomplishments transcend their individual disciplines and contribute to the profession as a whole and to the world at large.
